|scenes from lacma|

i love lacma because it is such an eclectic mix of old and new art. they had this quirky installation for people to explore in (i, a more pensive explorer than the children trying to bring the whole piece down) but also new wing of ancient antiquities as well as familiar impressionist art upstairs on view. as i study, it has become increasingly easier to spot a painting and identify the artist from across the room which is generally rewarding if i am correct.

we wandered for two hours or even more. the hype around the tim burton show was a spectacle, and no we did not see it. the line itself was just too ludicrous to even consider seeing the tiny show. lacma is a museum i visit most often and in turn feels most comfortable to me. i love the buildings and the la brea tarpits next door, which although unpleasant to the nose have captivated me since i was a kid.

two art fairs also took place this weekend and unfortunately, i was not able to attend. there is always next year though.
