camping

the weather has been perfect this week. after days of 100 degree fry an egg on a sidewalk awfulness it has simmered down to overcast skies and a slight breeze. i slept through two thunderstorms the past couple of weeks (thank you thera-flu) so i'm hoping we see a bit more action soon. i think i talk about the weather on this blog as much as a character in a jane austen novel does (which they do, a lot) but if there is anything i look forward to about grad school its a climate shock. i spoke with a professor who warned me for a southern californian interested in chicago there is no jacket insulated enough to keep me from feeling naked.

these are the last of my camping photos that i have developed. someone in comments asked me what camera i use, it is my friends nikon film camera that used to be her dads. i'm not sure how old it is, but safe to say its "vintage". it is a fixed 50 lens and i use cheap CVS pharmacy film because i am always almost broke. i love the excitement of ripping open the freshly developed film but i have been hankering for a new digital SLR. i've been internet window shopping for them and i might give myself a fancy christmas present if i can swing it but i doubt it.

happy weekend! september is flying by, i can't wrap my head around it but i can't wait for pumpkin carving this year with mr.c.
